Victorian Double Pickle Jar Stand with Trident Fork, Robert Pringle and Sons, 1890-1900, London, Silver Plate, Glass, Mother of Pearl

€125.00

This is a great example of a Victorian double pickle jar stand.

Made by Robert Pringle in London at the end of the 19th century, the set is offered to you in excellent condition with no damage, dents, chips, rubbing. There is ever-so-slight scratching to the base where a previous owner has used abrasive material to clean. It is not very noticeable - as you can see in the photos - and is only mentioned here for transparency.

The silver plate stand sits on four balled feet and has an architecturally designed handle that comprises two independent handles brought together with a sphere to the top. A special feature of the set is the pickle fork rest that sits at the front of the stand. Here, we have a very elegant and highly decorated trident fork that includes a mother-of-pearl handle.

The two pickle jars, in perfect condition, have been intricately hand cut with a lattice design to the bowl and a deep cut starburst to the lid and base. The lids sit flush to the jars ensuring your pickles - or whatever else you might like to put inside - remains fresh and ready to eat.

A really lovely set that we know you will love.
