Large Art Nouveau Brass Cauldron Jardiniere

Large Art Nouveau Brass Cauldron Jardiniere

€295.00

This is a large and impressive cauldron style brass jardiniere.

Made in the Netherlands in circa 1900 by KMD, it is an extremely well designed and made Art Nouveau piece.

Elaborate from top to bottom, the jardiniere has a triple tier design that starts with a repeating Egyptian cobra snake style motif which is underpinned with another repeating design - this time of octagonal shaped raised spheres. The third tier is left blank to highlight the strong and sturdy tripod feet upon which the pot sits. The jardiniere is completed with two large hooped handles that are held aloft by two Egyptian style arms.

The piece does have some dings that you can see in the photos and are to be expected of a brass item of this age. Assuredly, these do not take away from the impact of this substantial vessel. Internally, it is watertight.

A magnificent addition to your interior decor.
